Sometimes, especially after a weekend home with Mr. A and Little A, I wonder if I don't have two children already. They tattle on each other, pick on each other, wrestle each other, pass gas on each other... You name it.
Which gets me to my next point, actually having two children. Little A is 5 1/2 and can do many things all by himself. For example, today while I was training for my 5k, he rode his bike w me (no training wheels of course) and we bonded a little between my ragged breathing. After Mr. A and I have our wedding in December we are going to try for a baby. It's no secret that we want a child, but it is scary!!
Mr. A doesn't totally understand my fears of having another child. And really, sometimes I don't understand my own fears. It's not the being pregnant that scares me; I actually enjoyed that. I think it's the whole having a newborn in the house again and being completely and utterly sleep-deprived. Mind you, I did most everything on my own with Little A and things with Mr. A are totally different.
Then there are the things I totally look forward to and miss with having a kindergartner on my hands: feeling a baby kick, having a baby sleep on my chest, firsts (smile, laugh, steps), and of course the love I feel.
And that's what saves me; knowing that Baby A will be loved by an amazing family. And that Mr. A and Little A are my rocks and will be there for me no matter what!!

Training Day
No, not the movie!! I'm about 4 weeks into a 5k training program and man does it hurt! I did a 5k back in March, and it's amazing how quick you lose it if you don't use it. It feels so good to run though, and don't get me wrong, I am not a fast runner. Or a swift runner. Or a runner with good form. Or really even a runner (more like a jogger). But it feels so good afterward. Plus training for a 5k really helps with me the whole losing weight before the wedding since I don't do gyms and all I need to run is shoes and a sports bra (haha!).
So here's the sad part for me: I went to the Dr. last week for pain in my sciatic (if you've had a baby, you know what I mean; shooting pain starting in your lower back/butt and all the way down your leg and sometimes into your foot) and he said the last thing I should be doing with my sciatica (I sound so smart sometimes) is running. I should be swimming, he says. HA! I don't have a swimming pool, I have a treadmill. And running shoes. So I was prescribed some anti-inflammatory pills and the Dr. asked me if I wanted to have back surgery. Well, not in particular. But I am going to stick it to The Man and continue running because it's something I enjoy doing. And it's free.

Pumpkin Muffin Recipe
Since I absolutely MUST focus on schoolwork tonight, I figured I would quickly share my recipe for the pumpkin muffins that I made yesterday. So here it is:
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. canned pumpkin (you could probably use pumpkin pie mix for a sweeter version)
1/3 c. vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tbsp. vanilla (I like vanilla bean paste myself)
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
For topping you will need:
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350. Line a dozen muffin pan with liners. Sift together flour and baking powder; set aside. In large mixing bowl whisk together pumpkin, eggs, oil, spice, vanilla, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda until smooth. Whisk in flour and baking powder. Do not over-whisk as the batter will start to overly-thicken. Evenly distribute batter between muffin pan. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over muffin batter. Bake 25-30 minutes or until knife comes out clean.... ENJOY!!

Autumn in NV
This past week has been chilly and dreary, just how I imagine fall is supposed to be in the rest of the nation. Living in the desert for pretty much my entire hasn't given me very many experiences in the autumn leaves turning yellow apple cider department. We don't usually see cooler temps until November (which totally sucks for this girl).
Since we did have some fall-like weather this week, I was in total fall/Halloween mode this weekend. We went on a Halloween decorating spree, enjoyed the weather by tossing a football around, watched Little A perfect his bike riding skills, and finished the weekend by consuming these delicious homemade pumpkin muffins.
So now the house smells like pumpkin spice candles, Little A has his Luigi costume, the front yard shrieks when you walk by, and I feel like I haven't had a day off. Go figure.
Happy Fall!
(I will post the recipe for the muffins at a later time)

First Time
Well, here it is. My first blog. I haven't actually thought about what my blog is going to be about (except me of course). The fact that I haven't chosen a theme for my blog doesn't really surprise me though. Want to know why? Here it is....
I am a Pisces and I am a terrible long-term decision maker. I'm 28 and have no clue what I want to be when I grow up. I have been in college for ten years with majors ranging from veterinary science to international business. Decisions that could effect the rest of my life are not easy for me to make, so while I sit, ponder, and research what I want this blog to represent, know this: it will be entertaining to say the least.
Adios.
